Annual Multi-Trip insurance policy
This type of travel insurance policy covers you for any number of trips during the 12-month period of the insurance policy.
Baggage cover
Your travel insurance may include baggage cover. Please see your quotation for details. If included, baggage cover covers your personal belongings (clothing, suitcases, valuables and jewellery). Your home or Kit and personal possessions or Kit and Contents insurance may already cover your personal belongings whilst your are travelling.
Business travel cover
This is an optional extension to your travel insurance and will cover you for medical emergency expenses outside of the UK, loss of business equipment (mobile phones, portable personal computers, personal electronic organisers, calculators, dictaphones, portable facsimile machines, telephone modems, portable overhead projectors), business samples (small amounts of fabric or other commodity), which is owned by you or for which you are responsible and the purchase of essential replacement items or hiring of replacement business equipment.
Cancellation and curtailment
This covers you for unused travel and accommodation if you have to cancel or cut short your holiday because of events beyond your control, for example, if you fall ill and you are unable to travel, or the death of a close relative. However, each insurer has slightly different criteria and we recommend you consult the travel insurance policy documents.
Excess
The amount that you have to pay towards each and every travel insurance claim that you make.
Geographical areas
For the purposes of our travel insurance products:
- Europe - means Europe, Republic of Ireland, Madeira, the Canary Islands, Syria, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel and all countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea
- United Kingdom - means England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
If you are travelling outside any of the above areas, you should select Worldwide cover.
Golf cover
This is an optional extension to your travel insurance and will cover your golf equipment if it is lost, stolen or damaged and the cost of hiring replacement clubs. This also includes the costs of any pre-paid green fees which you are not able to use if you fall ill, are injured or adverse weather prevents you playing golf at a pre-booked course.

In addition any activity not mentioned above that is undertaken as a resort activity forming part of a booked holiday is covered. If you have booked a holiday specifically to take part in a sport or activity not listed above and you have not agreed this with us before taking out the policy or booking a trip you will not be covered while taking part in that sport.
Other sporting activities may be covered if you select Hazardous Activity Insurance. Activities covered under the two levels of Hazardous Activity Insurance are as follows:

Piste closure
Insurance cover is provided in the event of a lack of snow or conditions which result in the total closure of skiing facilities at the resort to which you have booked to travel.
Pre-existing disability or medical condition
This means any disability or medical condition which any insured person is currently suffering from or has suffered from in the past, but not limited to a condition:
- For which the person is on a waiting list for hospital in-patient treatment
- Referred to a waiting list for hospital in-patient treatment
- Referred to a medical specialist or receiving treatment as an in-patient
- For which a terminal prognosis has been provided by a medical practitioner.
Scuba diving
Your travel insurance includes this cover up to a certain depth as standard. However, you can still increase this depth by adding our optional hazardous activities extension. Please see your on-line quotation for further details.
Single-Trip insurance policy
This type of travel policy covers you for a single journey between the dates you specify.
United Kingdom
England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, and journeys between these countries.
Winter sports
This is an optional extension to your travel insurance and will cover events such as loss of ski equipment and ski passes, piste closure, ski hire/lessons.
