Autonational Roadside Assistance - £0.00

Important Note: Provided at no additional cost on policies taken out after 02/01/2008 (terms and conditions apply). This cover only applies within the UK (inc. Northern Ireland) and is only available to policyholders resident in the UK (inc. Northern Ireland).

What is so special about our Roadside Assistance cover?
It is a vehicle breakdown policy which covers ANYONE who is insured to drive your vehicle. In other words, your vehicle is covered provided the drivers are named under your policy.

What cover is provided?

  • Roadside Service – provides cover for costs of all labour charges to enable repair at the roadside or recovery to the nearest available garage
  • Messaging Service – a message will be passed to your family or colleagues if required.

Autonational Breakdown Cover - £11.80

Important Note: Breakdown cover is provided in the United Kingdom and European Union for a maximum of 90 days through Equity Red Star Policies at Lloyd's. This cover is only available for policyholders resident in the UK.

What is so special about our breakdown cover?
It is a vehicle breakdown policy which covers ANYONE who is insured to drive your vehicle. In other words, your vehicle is covered provided the drivers are insured under your policy.

Do I only get basic cover?
No, all policies include cover for breakdown, accident, fire or theft/vandalism.

  • Roadside Service - provides cover for cost of all labour charges to enable repair at the roadside or recovery to the nearest available garage, including any caravan or trailer (subject to size limitations)
  • Home Service - provides cover for cost of all labour charges to enable repairs at home address or recovery to the nearest garage
  • Vehicle recovery in one journey - provides national recovery of the vehicle and passengers to one chosen destination, including any caravan or trailer (subject to size limitations)
  • Alternative Travel/Accommodation - if the vehicle cannot be repaired or taken to your home destination during the same working day we will provide up to £150 in respect of travel or accommodation costs
  • Message Service - a message will be passed to your family or colleagues if required
  • European recovery service - if the vehicle cannot be repaired we will cover the cost of taking the vehicle and up to 5 people to a nearby garage. If the vehicle is out of use, we will cover the cost of a hire car, rail travel or extra accommodation.

Breakdown cover is provided through Equity Red Star and is available in the European Union and the United Kingdom (see the policy wording for the full list of countries).

Do I only get basic cover?
No, all policies include cover for breakdown, accident, fire, vandalism and theft.

  • Roadside Service: provides cover for cost of all labour charges to enable repair at the roadside or recovery to the nearest available garage, including any caravan or trailer
  • Recovery Service: if the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside, we’ll take your vehicle and passengers to a European destination of your choice
  • Home Service: provides cover for cost of all labour charges to enable repairs at your home address or recovery to the nearest garage
  • Alternative Travel or Accommodation: if the vehicle cannot be repaired or taken to your home destination during the same working day, we will provide up to €225 in respect of travel or accommodation costs
  • Message Service: a message will be passed to your family or colleagues if required
  • UK Recovery Service: if the vehicle cannot be repaired we will cover the cost of taking the vehicle, you and up to 4 passengers to a nearby garage. If the vehicle is out of use, we will cover the cost of a hire car, rail travel or extra accommodation. We’ll also cover you for the cost of hiring a vehicle (up to €295) if your vehicle is still out of use when you return home to Europe

Motor Protection Plan - £20.00

What is Motor Protection Plan?
The Motor Protection Plan has been developed to provide you with additional legal protection. Motor Protection Plan is a low-cost insurance policy which safeguards you against the effects of uninsured losses as a result of an accident that wasn't your fault. Motor Protection Plan is available for UK policies only.

Why do I need this extra insurance?
Unfortunately, your current car insurance policy may not cover you for some additional losses you could incur, such as policy excess or medical expenses (even if the accident is not your own fault).

Who is the insurer?
The policy is underwritten by Allianz Insurance plc, one of the leading UK legal expenses providers.

What help do I get?
Help is at hand from Allianz Insurance plc who have a team of experienced claims specialists to help seek compensation for these losses. It is your legal right to pursue compensation from the guilty party and, with legal expenses insurance up to £50,000 per claim, you can do this without being out of pocket.

  • Policy excess under comprehensive insurance

Motor Protection Plan includes a number of benefits in addition to uninsured loss recovery:

  • Credit repair - With third party insurance, if you have an accident that is not your fault, Motor Protection Plan can arrange for repairs to be done to your vehicle immediately, at no cost to yourself. This means you don't have to wait until the other driver's insurance has been sorted out before your own vehicle is repaired

Motor Protection Plan is only valid for the period of car insurance, even if taken out mid way through your car insurance policy and must be taken out to commence at the start of your renewal or if you change your vehicle. The 72 hour replacement vehicle is only available to drivers that are aged 21 years or over.
